Week 4
Location / Consistency
For week 1, the focus is all about leg drive and using your lower half of your body to create energy.
Below I have posted 3 drills that are focused primarily on legs.
You will find a written description, with the basic outline for the drill, as well as a video demonstration from YouTube.

Week 4
Location & Consistency
For week 4, the whole goal and focus is to work on consistently hitting location.
Below I have posted 2 drills that are focused mainly on hitting location.
You will find a written description, with the basic outline for the drill, as well as a video demonstration from YouTube.
Around the World
Low number wins!
The double arm drill is a great way to get muscle memory for a quick arm. The idea behind the drill, is to start slowly to get the hang of two arm circles. The key is to increase speed of the arm as you progress in the drill.
This drill should be completed as followed:
-
10 pitches with double arm circle throwing fastball
-
15 pitches, full motion, fastball focusing on quick arm speed
-
10 pitches with double arm circle throwing change up
-
15 pitches, full motion, changeup focusing on quick arm speed and correct release
-
Finish drill with 3 sets of 10 pitches (your choice) and focus on arm speed, not location
-
Pause workout as needed and implement the double arm drill if feeling "slow" at any point in the drill

Around the world: trying to hit spots
How many pitches it takes to hit all 6 locations (perfect would be 6 minimum pitches need)
Do not move on to next location until you hit the designated spot
Record your data, and break it up by location. (How many pitches did each spot take)
This will be a drill that is used throughout the summer to track your improvement. For this initial first time, you will throw fastballs only. Include this information on your record sheet.
This drill can be altered to incorporate different breaking pitches.
** The end goal is to complete the drill, by throwing the fewest number of pitches possible.
Combo locations
Work up & in, low & out
This drill will consist of working on different combos of locations. By this, I mean that you will throw a pitch up & in to a right handed batter, and then follow that pitch with a low & away pitch -- still to a right handed batter.
Ideally, you should be able to master the combo, and it should only take you one try to hit each location.
For your first few times trying the drill, you can move on to the next pitch ONLY IF you hit the spot, or if you miss in the direction the ball should be traveling.
For example, if you are trying to go up and in to a right handed batter, and you miss over the plate -- it does not count as successful. If you miss too far up or inside (within reason) you can move on.
This should be a time to challenge yourself, and try to test your abilities. Do not give yourself free passes, and take the easy route just to finish the drill.
Try to successfully throw 8 combos to both right and left handed batters. If time allows, play with combos using breaking pitches
